Dear Yuletide Writer...
Hi! Thank you for doing this. Bear with me, I haven't really written one of these before. Except maybe the first time I did this ten years ago? Not sure. ANYWAY.
General Likes: Found family, wacky hijinks, putting extraordinary people into ordinary situations, consent, communication, hope punk, queer characters. Happy with anything from gen to smut.
Dislikes: Excessive drama that could be solved by two minutes of conversation, cheating (not to be confused with consensual ethical polyamory, which is great), character death, hopeless endings.
Hard Nos: Non-Con
The world kind of sucks right now, and while I'm not exactly opposed to bad end type stuff, I at least want to leave the fic feeling like everything might be okay, even if it isn't quite yet.
Anyway, specifics!
Fandom: Newsflesh
Characters: Georgia Mason, Shaun Mason
I love the heck out of this series and these two in particular. I would love stories about them as teens just figuring out their feelings for each other, or starting their news career. Shenanigans and sneaking around and banter, etc. Stuff with the rest of the team super welcome as well. I could also go for post-series adventures in Canada. Bonus points for taking care of each other H/C style. Shaun making George to bed when she's overworked and has a headache. George chastising Shaun for a close call while also helping bandage injuries (VERY CAREFULLY). While I obviously ship it very hard, I also enjoy fics where it's ambiguous. But I definitely don't want them dating anyone else.
Fandom: Tangled the Series
Characters: Cassandra, Eugene, Rapunzel
I am super here for pansexual Rapunzel wrestling through her attraction to Cassandra and supportive Eugene loving her but being cool with her experimenting cause she's been locked in a tower for so long. Give me their weird little family unit, with Cass and Eugene sniping at each other but eventually learning to appreciate/respect each other. Give me future fic of Rapunzel ruling with Eugene at her side and Cass leading her guards. Give me the three of them going on adventures together with Cass and Rapunzel kicking ass and Eugene just being like YOU GET 'EM BABES I GOT YOUR FLOWER. Just. These three. I love them so much.
Fandom: Justice League International
Character: Big Barda
Barda punching things? Great. Barda attempting to do normal human domestic things? GREAT. Barda balancing both? Great. I just love Big Barda and she deserves so much love. Picture this: future fic with Barda at a PTA meeting. That type of shenanigans are what I live for. Scott/any other superheroes are good to have too. But mostly I'm here for Barda. (Also in the not a character I can request but yes a character I'd love to see: Barda being interviewed by Lois Lane?? I would very much enjoy that.)
Fandom: Captain Marvel
Character: Carol Danvers
CAROL THE LOVE OF MY LIFE she's so good she's so strong and snarky and amazing. Carol punching people! Carol in space! Carol dating various ladies and/or men! Bisexual Carol. It is hard for me to give as many specific prompts here because, as you can probably see, I just love Carol so much. Though literally now as I write it out, I gotta say, combining this one and the last one and writing Barda/Carol crossover fic?? Double yes.
All of these are guidelines, not specific demands, cause doing every single thing I put in any of these would be impossible. Feel free to take what is useful and discard the rest! Thank you for your hard work, friend! I look forward to reading what you write.
