Hello Yuletide friend! Thank you in advance for your story this year!! I'm very much looking forward to reading it and I'm certain whatever you come up with will be awesome. For the most part, my prompts are definitely more suggestions than rules. If you have a great idea that features the characters requested and doesn't fit the prompts, follow your heart.

Let's start with the DNWs

The big one? Please, no plague, either the real one we're currently going through or fictional ones (except in the Newsflesh prompt, I guess). And no mention of Trump or real world politics (fictional politics are fine). I really really don't want to have to deal with that in my fun escapism. I'm not... entirely opposed to sad fics and character death, but I'd like to avoid hopelessness. Bittersweet is good. Also not a fan of explicit gore, though implied gore is okay.

I also don't want a Christmas fic. Hanukkah or other non-Christian holidays are great, and just the mention of Christmas isn't bad, but please, nothing that centers around it. No Christmas specials, basically.

As for things I like... well, apparently I'm a sucker for romantic tropey bullshit. Fake dating, only one bed, enemies to lovers... I love it. I also love found family nonsense and just... genuine affection between characters, whether romantic or friend/family. Also, while I do love romance, I find friendship and family fics vastly underrated and LOVE those. Give me that good good gen love. Humor is always a good way to go, as is including anything Jewish.

Red, White, and Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston - Alex Claremont-Diaz

All I want is for Alex Claremont-Diaz to get the ADHD diagnosis and treatment he deserves. That being said, if deep dives into mental health aren't your thing, I am also EXTREMELY here for anything Alex/Henry, either smutty or sweet or considering these two, both. Alex and his family is also always good.

Maybe Alex figuring out that June is definitely not all that straight and is dating both Pez and Nora. Or Alex and Liam meeting up after the election like they said they would. (Double date with their boyfriends?) Alex bonding more with Pez and/or Beatrice or trying very hard not to punch Philip in the face or dealing with British royalty nonsense. Basically, I want more Red, White, and Royal Blue. If one of these prompts inspires you, go wild, or surprise me!

Newsflesh Series by Mira Grant - Georgia Mason, Shaun Mason

I loved in Feedback when we got other peoples' perspectives on these two. They make their own little world. What's it like from the outside? Or, future fic!! What's their life like getting old? Do they stay in Canada? Are there kids, either adopted or biological? What new improbably massive zombie animals does Shaun wrestle??

This is also another place where I'd be very happy to receive smut. I am especially in favor of George pegging Shaun, just saying.

Infinity Train - The Cat

I love the Cat. I want more of her story. Was Simon the only passenger she's ever latched onto like that? Is he part of why she's so distant? What does she think of all the changes she sees the train going through? She's clearly one of the most aware beings on the train and I want to know more!

Also absolutely here for her doing stupid cat things like knocking things off table and sitting in boxes.

DNW smut for this fandom specifically. Because... cat.

Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik - Rebekah bat Flek, Miryem Mandelstam

What is Rebekah bat Flek's relationship to Judaism? I'd love to see how she (and maybe the entire Staryk world) changes with Miryem as their queen bringing her customs to them. Does she feel different from the rest of the Staryk with her name origins? How does she feel about it?

HELLO FRIENDS Yuletide is upon us (aka that one time Shana posts ever) and because it's probably better than refreshing everything impatiently waiting for the tagset to open... I decided it was time to PROMOTE!! THE SHIT!! I LIKE!! Because please read these things and write/request stuff from them and make my life.

I am. Going to attempt. To be brief. But if you want to hear more ask and I will WORD VOMIT AT YOU.

Anyway, that's the start of it. Gonna possibly hit more as I feel like it. If there's one thing that it's easy to get me talking about, it's books.

Dear Yuletide Writer,

Hello! Thank you in advance. I'm so excited to see what you come up with! To start with, some general things I like/dislike:

I love found family, for people making each other better through friendship and love, whether romantic or familial. I'm here for humor and pain, bonus if the story has both. I love genfic a lot, but I'm definitely also here for smut should the mood strike you. While I enjoy some suffering, I'd rather have a story that doesn't feel entirely hopeless, and has, if not an outright happy ending, at least some sense that there's hope that things won't be terrible forever.

I am not interested in noncon or incest (except with Newsflesh).

Newsflesh - Mira Grant: Shaun Mason, Georgia Mason

I love this series so much but I especially love Shaun and George and their wonderful terrible relationship. I'd love to see more pre-Feed stuff of the two of them working together or dealing with their terrible parents or navigating the trials and travails that comes with being in love with your adopted sibling. Teenage awkward figuring things out is delightful.

I also would be into stories of their life post-Blackout, or even post-Coming to You Live. What is their life like in Canada? What story is big enough to pull them out of retirement? How does the world deal with the fact that any subtlety they once had is definitely gone now? And on that note, I'm also a huge sucker for IC fandom stuff. You know there's in-universe RPF about the bloggers. I would love to see some of it, or the arguments about shipping that have little to do with anyone's actual interest in anyone else.

Titans: Dick Grayson

I LOVE the family relationships in this show. I'd dig seeing more of Dick and Bruce, either what we've seen from before only from Bruce's pov or new stuff has they forge their way forward as adults. I love Dick and Donna and their friendship and I want to see more of it, and the way it's changed and shifted and always stayed strong (and never been romantic). Dick mentoring the new kids is EXCELLENT too he just has such strong big brother vibes he can't help himself. Maybe dealing with Gar missing the Doom Patrol? Because it's gotta be rough for him. Also, did Dick ever actually quit his job with the police or did he just sort of stop showing up? What's going on there?

Bonus points for casually bisexual Dick Grayson. Bonus bonus points for Dick/Roy in the past or present.

Elsinore Game: Hamlet, Horatio

WHAT IS THE RIGHT PATH TO GET HAMLET AND HORATIO TO FALL IN LOVE? I NEED TO KNOW! In the graveyard, Hamlet says maybe if he weren't a prince things would be different. Is that a scenario it's possible for Ophelia to generate somehow? Whether or not she succeeds, it'd be cool to see her try.

Or I'd love more about That One Time At Wittenberg, or anything else about their long and deep friendship. Horatio puts up with so much. He deserves good things.

Crazy Ex-Girlfriend: Dr. Noelle Akopian

Dr. Akopian puts up with so much. What's her life like when she's not dealing with Rebecca Bunch? If you're feeling crossovery, I'd love to see a conversation between her and Linda from the Lucifer TV show because man I am not sure who is a worse patient between Rebecca and the actual devil. Dr Akopian is such a great character and she deserves more screen time.

All-New Wolverine: Wade Wilson, Gabby Kinney

DEADPOOL AND HONEY BADGER. THE DREAM TEAM. Let these terrors wreck havoc over the Marvel universe, or have Wade take Gabby on a fourth wall breaking nightmare jaunt. Let them be stupid and cute. Let everyone else regret that they ever met.

Help I am drowning in X-Men comics. Not that this is an actual complaint. But goddamn I have not fallen into a new fandom like this for a while. Does it count as new when it's this old and I've definitely read plenty of it before?? Eh.

I don't podcast often but Jay and Miles have captivated me. And then I realized the library has SO MANY COMICS and they're all free and they even take them BACK so I don't need to find more space on my shelves for them! Magic. Unfortunately I cannot take more reading time out of the library. And I don't have nearly as many long train rides as I did before I moved.

Still. I'm having fun. Anyway, ( we got kittens. )

Dear Yuletide Writer...

Hi! Thank you for doing this. Bear with me, I haven't really written one of these before. Except maybe the first time I did this ten years ago? Not sure. ANYWAY.

General Likes: Found family, wacky hijinks, putting extraordinary people into ordinary situations, consent, communication, hope punk, queer characters. Happy with anything from gen to smut.

Dislikes: Excessive drama that could be solved by two minutes of conversation, cheating (not to be confused with consensual ethical polyamory, which is great), character death, hopeless endings.

Hard Nos: Non-Con

The world kind of sucks right now, and while I'm not exactly opposed to bad end type stuff, I at least want to leave the fic feeling like everything might be okay, even if it isn't quite yet.

Anyway, specifics!

Fandom: Newsflesh
Characters: Georgia Mason, Shaun Mason

I love the heck out of this series and these two in particular. I would love stories about them as teens just figuring out their feelings for each other, or starting their news career. Shenanigans and sneaking around and banter, etc. Stuff with the rest of the team super welcome as well. I could also go for post-series adventures in Canada. Bonus points for taking care of each other H/C style. Shaun making George to bed when she's overworked and has a headache. George chastising Shaun for a close call while also helping bandage injuries (VERY CAREFULLY). While I obviously ship it very hard, I also enjoy fics where it's ambiguous. But I definitely don't want them dating anyone else.

Fandom: Tangled the Series
Characters: Cassandra, Eugene, Rapunzel

I am super here for pansexual Rapunzel wrestling through her attraction to Cassandra and supportive Eugene loving her but being cool with her experimenting cause she's been locked in a tower for so long. Give me their weird little family unit, with Cass and Eugene sniping at each other but eventually learning to appreciate/respect each other. Give me future fic of Rapunzel ruling with Eugene at her side and Cass leading her guards. Give me the three of them going on adventures together with Cass and Rapunzel kicking ass and Eugene just being like YOU GET 'EM BABES I GOT YOUR FLOWER. Just. These three. I love them so much.

Fandom: Justice League International
Character: Big Barda

Barda punching things? Great. Barda attempting to do normal human domestic things? GREAT. Barda balancing both? Great. I just love Big Barda and she deserves so much love. Picture this: future fic with Barda at a PTA meeting. That type of shenanigans are what I live for. Scott/any other superheroes are good to have too. But mostly I'm here for Barda. (Also in the not a character I can request but yes a character I'd love to see: Barda being interviewed by Lois Lane?? I would very much enjoy that.)

Fandom: Captain Marvel
Character: Carol Danvers

CAROL THE LOVE OF MY LIFE she's so good she's so strong and snarky and amazing. Carol punching people! Carol in space! Carol dating various ladies and/or men! Bisexual Carol. It is hard for me to give as many specific prompts here because, as you can probably see, I just love Carol so much. Though literally now as I write it out, I gotta say, combining this one and the last one and writing Barda/Carol crossover fic?? Double yes.
