how to play.

1. Drop a comment with one or more of your muses. It can be empty if you want me to make a scenario, or you can toss one at me. If you want to just give me a prompt (a word, song, lyric, picture, phrase, anything), I can riff off that too. I make no promises for logic, especially if I don't know the canon.

2. In the subject line, you can specify any of my muses you might want to play with, or you can ask me to pick someone. No muses are off-limits! If the character has no icons yet, I will find icons. Or you can make me pick.

3. just rp with me. if something jives really well, maybe we can continue it in another one of these later, sort of like a super casual verse. if it doesn't, it doesn't.

[Buffy's on patrol. Spike's lurking around because he does that like a loser sometimes. Also because it's been a few weeks since they had sex and HE WANTS MORE but he doesn't want to admit to wanting more, he wants her to come begging to him.

So he's here, watching her fight and making no move to help. When she finishes dusting a few vampires that she'd been fighting, he applauds slowly.] Nice work, love.

Really wasn't doing it for audience benefit. [ she dusts herself off, getting to her feet and turning to stomp off, disregarding him. uh uh. not doing this right now. so beyond not doing this right now. she'd managed to avoid him for a whole three weeks. she isn't looking to rehash old ... times. ugh. and once again, not looking at him. the quicker she gets out of the graveyard, the better. ]

[bigbad]

[He jumps off the crypt he'd been crouching on and catches up in a few strides.] Even so, I enjoyed the show. [Yeah, he's not going anywhere. Not yet anyhow.] You've been avoiding me.

[slay]

That would involve thinking about you. Which I haven't. No, Spike, I've been doing this thing called having a life. Which coincidentally--and thankfully--has nothing to do with you. [ oh. great. he's tagging along. maybe if she ignores him he'll go away. ]

[bigbad]

[But then you'd have to ignore him.] Haven't been thinking about me, huh? [Yeah, he believes that.] Makes two of us. Really, I was hoping it'd be a bit longer.

[slay]

Yes, which is why you're following me. Which I'm sure we'll be arriving at a reason for any minute now ...

[bigbad]

I'm not following you. [...yes he is.] Just happen to be walking the same direction. Got a problem with that?

I hope that's rhetorical. Find another direction to walk, Spike. I don't have time for this.

[bigbad]

So you are avoiding me. [He smirks triumphantly.] Almost like you're ashamed or something.

[slay]

[ ugh. even as she refuses to look at him she can feel the smirk on his face growing at that. ass. ] Not avoiding. Just hating. Don't you have someone else to annoy?

[bigbad]

[No, there's just her.] Does me being away make it easier to pretend?

[slay]

[ she knows she shouldn't ask questions she already knows the answers to, but ... she stops, pivoting on her heels to glower at him. ] Pretend what, exactly?

[bigbad]

[He curls his tongue around his teeth as he smirks.] That you're not aching for another go.

[slay]

[ the fact that warmth spreads under her skin as her eyes fix on his tongue as he curls it only makes her fists clench harder and her resolve stiffen. true or not, he's out of line. a cool rage washes over her and she squares her shoulders, lifting her chin, loathing burning behind her eyes. ]

The only thing aching is my head every time you open your mouth. Leave me alone, Spike.

[bigbad]

That really what you want? [He steps in closer.] Has there been anyone else? Since that night?

[slay]

[ she can't decide what's worse. letting him get close, or taking a step back and letting him know he's getting to her. she opts for the former, jaw clenching, glare hardening. ]

That is none of your business. [ and hello, indignation. there weren't even that many elses before that night! it's not like she was gonna just swing herself into some other guy's arms and--or, well, okay, disregarding that she had in fact done exactly that and riley was ... well, great, actually, so long as you didn't factor the teutonic in or compare him to--n-not that she compared. or even thought about--nope. ]

[bigbad]

Thought so. [He can smell someone on her. Someone male. It wasn't entirely conclusive, but... her indignation spoke for itself.] Human, I assume. Probably boring, too.

[slay]

Is there a reason you're doing your best jealous boyfriend act? It was one night, Spike. One terrible night, that will never, ever be repeated. So maybe it's time you got over it. I know I have. [ she moves to push past him and back toward the UC Sunnydale campus in a huff. right. all going according to plan. insult dead thing. dismiss dead thing. extract self from dead thing situation. no bedroom eyes. ]

[bigbad]

[He plants a hand on her stomach, stopping her from passing him.] You can't lie to me, pet. I was there. And terrible's not the word for it.

[slay]

[ no. nonono. this was not part of her plan. touching. touching bad. she slaps his hand away like it's a hot brick, recoiling. ] So, what, then? 'Blah blah, Buffy's such a great lay, I think I'll go psycho stalker since it was a strictly one-time-only'? Been there, slain that. Touch me again and I'll give the encore presentation.

[bigbad]

Why? Afraid you'll be spreading your legs within moments if you get a reminder?

[slay]

Afraid. Not a word I'd associate with you. [ she steps closer with a certain amount of arrogant swagger to her. ] Out of my way, Spike.

[bigbad]

[He doesn't move.] Or what? Gonna hit me? Go ahead.

[slay]

[ there's a casual shrug. ] Well, since you're asking. [ then she decks him. ]

[bigbad]

[His head snaps back with the force of the blow, but he doesn't move. He just slowly turns back towards her, grinning as he rubs his jaw where she hit him.] Oh, do it again, I just might start to like it.
